2024-03-17Delete hasPrefix and hasSuffix from the codebaseJade Lovelace
These now have equivalents in the standard lib in C++20. This change was performed with a custom clang-tidy check which I will submit later. Executed like so: ninja -C build && run-clang-tidy -checks='-*,nix-*' -load=build/libnix-clang-tidy.so -p .. -fix ../tests | tee -a clang-tidy-result Change-Id: I62679e315ff9e7ce72a40b91b79c3e9fc01b27e9
2023-08-22Tarball trees: Propagate lastModifiedEelco Dolstra
This makes them behave consistently with GitHub/GitLab flakes.
2023-08-01Don't require .tar/.zip extension for tarball flakerefsEelco Dolstra
Special-casing the file name is rather ugly, so we shouldn't do that. So now any {file, http, https} URL is handled by TarballInputScheme, except for non-flake inputs (i.e. inputs that have the attribute `flake = false`).
2023-07-07Simplify `ContentAddress`John Ericson
Whereas `ContentAddressWithReferences` is a sum type complex because different varieties support different notions of reference, and `ContentAddressMethod` is a nested enum to support that, `ContentAddress` can be a simple pair of a method and hash. `ContentAddress` does not need to be a sum type on the outside because the choice of method doesn't effect what type of hashes we can use. 2023-06-13Allow tarball URLs to redirect to a lockable immutable URLEelco Dolstra
Previously, for tarball flakes, we recorded the original URL of the tarball flake, rather than the URL to which it ultimately redirects. Thus, a flake URL like http://example.org/patchelf-latest.tar that redirects to http://example.org/patchelf-<revision>.tar was not really usable. We couldn't record the redirected URL, because sites like GitHub redirect to CDN URLs that we can't rely on to be stable. So now we use the redirected URL only if the server returns the `x-nix-is-immutable` or `x-amz-meta-nix-is-immutable` headers in its response.

2023-02-28Revert "Remove some designated initializers"John Ericson
This reverts commit ee9eb83a842eb97d0180fd9d349d30ff27fdb485.
2023-02-01Remove some designated initializersJohn Ericson
With the switch to C++20, the rules became more strict, and we can no longer initialize base classes. Make them comments instead. (BTW https://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg21/docs/papers/2021/p2287r1.html this offers some new syntax for this use-case. Hopefully this will be adopted and we can eventually use it.)
2023-01-23Don't add `StorePathDescriptor` for nowJohn Ericson
We don't need it yet, we can add it back later.

2022-05-19fetchTree: Allow fetching plain filesTony Olagbaiye
Add a new `file` fetcher type, which will fetch a plain file over http(s), or from the local file. Because plain `http(s)://` or `file://` urls can already correspond to `tarball` inputs (if the path ends-up with a know archive extension), the URL parsing logic is a bit convuluted in that: - {http,https,file}:// urls will be interpreted as either a tarball or a file input, depending on the extensions of the path part (so `https://foo.com/bar` will be a `file` input and `https://foo.com/bar.tar.gz` as a `tarball` input) - `file+{something}://` urls will be interpreted as `file` urls (with the `file+` part removed) - `tarball+{something}://` urls will be interpreted as `tarball` urls (with the `tarball+` part removed) Fix #3785 Co-Authored-By: Tony Olagbaiye <me@fron.io>

2022-02-24libfetchers: Rename immutable -> lockedEelco Dolstra
This is more consistent with flake terminology.

2022-01-18Get rid of std::shared_ptr<std::string> and ref<std::string>Eelco Dolstra
These were needed back in the pre-C++11 era because we didn't have move semantics. But now we do.

2021-04-09Revert "libfetchers/tarball: Lock on effectiveUrl"Eelco Dolstra

2021-03-02libfetchers/tarball: Lock on effectiveUrldramforever
Basically, if a tarball URL is used as a flake input, and the URL leads to a redirect, the final redirect destination would be recorded as the locked URL. This allows tarballs under https://nixos.org/channels to be used as flake inputs. If we, as before, lock on to the original URL it would break every time the channel updates.

2020-12-23Cast variants fully for libc++10Matthew Bauer
libc++10 seems to be stricter on what it allows in variant conversion. I'm not sure what the rules are here, but this is the minimal change needed to get through the compilation errors.

2020-10-07Use PathReferences more widelyJohn Ericson
2020-10-06Remove static variable name clashesEelco Dolstra
This was useful for an experiment with building Nix as a single compilation unit. It's not very useful otherwise but also doesn't hurt...
2020-09-29Make Headers an optional argumentEelco Dolstra
2020-09-16Fetch commits from github/gitlab using Auth headerGreg Hale
`nix flake info` calls the github 'commits' API, which requires authorization when the repository is private. Currently this request fails with a 404. This commit adds an authorization header when calling the 'commits' API. It also changes the way that the 'tarball' API authenticates, moving the user's token from a query parameter into the Authorization header. The query parameter method is recently deprecated and will be disallowed in November 2020. Using them today triggers a warning email.

2020-06-12Add newHashAllowEmpty helper functionMatthew Bauer
This replaces the copy&paste with a helper function in hash.hh.
2020-06-09Support empty hash in fetchersMatthew Bauer
fetchTarball, fetchTree, and fetchGit all have *optional* hash attrs. This means that we need to be careful with what we allow to avoid accidentally making these defaults. When ‘hash = ""’ we assume the empty hash is wanted.
