From 0746951be1563b1dd590690f9ee48a2fe964bd93 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: John Ericson Date: Fri, 7 Apr 2023 09:55:28 -0400 Subject: Finish converting existing comments for internal API docs (#8146) * Finish converting existing comments for internal API docs 99% of this was just reformatting existing comments. Only two exceptions: - Expanded upon `BuildResult::status` compat note - Split up file-level `symbol-table.hh` doc comments to get per-definition docs Also fixed a few whitespace goofs, turning leading tabs to spaces and removing trailing spaces. Picking up from #8133 * Fix two things from comments * Use triple-backtick not indent for `dumpPath` * Convert GNU-style `\`..'` quotes to markdown style in API docs This will render correctly. --- src/libexpr/value.hh | 95 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++------------------- 1 file changed, 60 insertions(+), 35 deletions(-) (limited to 'src/libexpr/value.hh') diff --git a/src/libexpr/value.hh b/src/libexpr/value.hh index bfae4ee94..7739f99df 100644 --- a/src/libexpr/value.hh +++ b/src/libexpr/value.hh @@ -36,9 +36,11 @@ typedef enum { tFloat } InternalType; -// This type abstracts over all actual value types in the language, -// grouping together implementation details like tList*, different function -// types, and types in non-normal form (so thunks and co.) +/** + * This type abstracts over all actual value types in the language, + * grouping together implementation details like tList*, different function + * types, and types in non-normal form (so thunks and co.) + */ typedef enum { nThunk, nInt, @@ -70,38 +72,51 @@ class XMLWriter; typedef int64_t NixInt; typedef double NixFloat; -/* External values must descend from ExternalValueBase, so that +/** + * External values must descend from ExternalValueBase, so that * type-agnostic nix functions (e.g. showType) can be implemented */ class ExternalValueBase { friend std::ostream & operator << (std::ostream & str, const ExternalValueBase & v); protected: - /* Print out the value */ + /** + * Print out the value + */ virtual std::ostream & print(std::ostream & str) const = 0; public: - /* Return a simple string describing the type */ + /** + * Return a simple string describing the type + */ virtual std::string showType() const = 0; - /* Return a string to be used in builtins.typeOf */ + /** + * Return a string to be used in builtins.typeOf + */ virtual std::string typeOf() const = 0; - /* Coerce the value to a string.
